PEEK materials are often used in environments with hot water or steam and are still able to maintain their physical properties such as flexural strength and tensile strength at a high level.
Polyetheretherketone is often mistaken as merely a high-priced engineering thermoplastic. However, experienced users appreciate the added value that PEEK plastics offer due to their desirable material properties; that is to say, the ability to produce components that are lighter, more resilient and can withstand demanding operating conditions for longer periods of time.
The base polymer of this filament meets the requirements for food contact according to (EC) No 1935/2004, (EU) No 10/2011, (EC) No 2023/2006 and FDA. Migration tests according to EU 10/2011 were successfully performed on similar extruded specimens.
